“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son” -Colossians 1:13 ESV We are not of the night or of the darkness.” -1 Thessalonians 5:5 ESV “For you are all children of light, children of the day. “ The way of the wicked is like deep darkness they do not know over what they stumble.” -Proverbs 4:19 ESV The un- regenerate are children of darkness-following in the ways of Satan, while regenerate followers of Christ are children of light. “For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” -Romans 1:21 ESV They are enemies of God He is not within them. Their mind and heart are darkened, and they are following a path of darkness, although they may not perceive it. For the unregenerate, this is impossible. Only people who are spiritually alive can truly understand God’s Word in its truth and richness. The regenerate are made alive spiritually they live in spiritual light. All humans are born spiritually dead due to the original sin of Adam. The un- regenerate are spiritually dead and live in spiritual darkness. Spiritual darkness is a symptom of spiritual death.
